Labour Day, Why we Celebrate on 1st may?

Labour Day is an annual public holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day is also known as International Workers Day. Workers Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

For most countries, Labour Day is Famous with, or linked with, International Workers’ Day, which occurs on 1 May. For other countries, Labour Day is celebrated on a different date, often one with special significance for the labour movement in that country. Labour Day is a public holiday in many countries.

In Canada and the United States, the holiday is celebrated on the first Monday of September and considered the unofficial end of summer, with summer vacations ending and students returning to school around then.

In Pakistan, China and many other countries celebrate Labour day on 1st May. On the same date Europe, Africa, Asia and North America celebrate International workers day, but some countries celebrate Worker’s Day on different dates and some of them has no public holiday.

Countries Celebrate Labour day on 1st May

May 1 is also a national holiday in the Russian Federation and Asian countries such as ChinaThailand, Pakistan, India, Iran and Vietnam. The Labor Day or International Workers day holiday, or Labour Day holiday, is celebrated in the United States and countries such as Australia and Canada at different times of the year.

What we Do on Labour Day

We can celebrate International workers day or labour day not only enjoy our national holiday and watch movies or get to gather with friends and family. We can celebrate it with Labour’s and their Labour’s families rather then to waste our time in our daily social life or playing video game’s.
